Downtown Boston & the Waterfront
Two nights downtown for First Night, the Common fireworks and midnight on the harbor.
First Night Boston

Boston Common
The country's oldest public park, with the Frog Pond rink, where the First Night parade ends and fireworks go up at 7 p.m.
Tip Skate at the Frog Pond on Dec 30; on First Night 2025 the Skating Club of Boston performed there at 3 and 5:30 p.m.
Long Wharf
Historic wharf on the downtown waterfront and the main viewing point for the midnight fireworks over the harbor.
Tip The end of the wharf fills by 11:30 p.m.; the Harborwalk to the north has more room.
Christopher Columbus Park
Waterfront park between the North End and the harbor, with an open view of the midnight fireworks.
Union Oyster House
Open since 1826, the country's oldest continuously operating restaurant, with a raw bar and chowder by Faneuil Hall.
Tip Sit at the semicircular oyster bar downstairs.
Mamma Maria
Long-running Italian restaurant in a townhouse on North Square, steps from the Paul Revere House.
Tip Book an early New Year's Eve table and walk to Christopher Columbus Park for midnight.
Bell in Hand Tavern
Tavern dating to 1795, one of the oldest in the country, with live music near Faneuil Hall.
Omni Parker House
Hotel on School Street since 1855, birthplace of Boston cream pie, a block from Boston Common.
Tip Its wood-paneled Parker's Bar is a warm stop between the 7 p.m. and midnight fireworks.
