A long weekend that follows the music out of the tourist center and into the neighborhoods. Lower Broadway kicks things off with live bands on honky-tonk row and the history of the Ryman Auditorium. East Nashville is the slower second act, with small rooms around Five Points and a greenway walk at Shelby Bottoms to reset. The Gulch closes the weekend with bluegrass and songwriter sets, then dinner and a last round on Division Street.
Good for Music fans on a first-time Nashville weekend
March through May is mild and pleasant for walking between venues and enjoying patios. Spring also tends to be festival-friendly, so it is smart to check dates. Summers are hot and humid, which can wear on long days out.
Rideshares and walking cover most of this route. Lower Broadway and the Gulch are walkable on their own, while East Nashville is a short ride across the river. Having a car is rarely necessary, and parking downtown can be a chore.
